What's going wrong?
Common signs, and the kind of work that usually fixes them.
When several fixtures slow down together, the blockage is usually in the main line rather than any one drain. That calls for clearing the main, not the sink.
When it is all of them, the main line is the suspect. A camera inspection shows whether it is a blockage, roots or a broken section.
A failed element, thermostat or burner, or a tank that has lost capacity to sediment. Working out which decides whether a repair or a replacement makes sense.
Hair, grease and soap build up along the pipe wall until water can barely get past. Clearing the line restores full flow and shows whether something further down is the real cause.
A cracked or collapsed line lets wastewater escape underground. Soft, unusually green or sunken patches of lawn often mark the spot.

Keep grease, coffee grounds and fibrous food out of the kitchen sink, use strainers in tubs and showers, and run hot water after heavy use. Clogs that keep returning despite that usually mean something in the line needs attention.
